Omaha Symphony: Haydn & Hagenberg

  • Holland Performing Arts Center 1200 Douglas Street Omaha, NE, 68102 United States (map)

The Omaha Symphony’s ground-breaking Choral Collaborative returns with Joseph Haydn’s majestic masterwork, Lord Nelson Mass. Originally titled Mass for Troubled Times, Haydn’s music is filled with virtuosic writing, depicting struggles both personal and historical. Arguably Haydn’s greatest composition, the Mass premiered as Admiral Horatio Nelson defeated Napoleon at the Battle of the Nile, earning the work its triumphant nickname.
