Renowned Philadelphia-based ensemble Variant 6 presents a concert of virtuosic vocal chamber music for five voices from Renaissance classics, to 20th Century gems, to pieces written in the last decade. Known for their “astonishing tonal focus, pinpoint intonation, subtlety of expression and sheer vocal virtuosity” (Gramophone), this ensemble will highlight the extent of possibilities available to one-on-a-part voices, featuring the music of Monteverdi, Josquin, Orlando di Lassus, Gabriel Jackson, Maurice Ravel, Benjamin Britten, Herbert Howells, Bruno Bettinelli, Kerry Andrew, and Donna McKevitt.
